Scooter Over Revving. Evening, i am having issues with the engine over revving espeically when sitting at traffic lights and sitting the engine in neutraul. Adjust your idle upwards in small (1/4 or less turn) increments until the back wheel starts to spin. Make sure your battery is in good charged condition, and don't over crank. I was tuning the carb on a newly rebuilt engine (i did the work) and while turning the air mixture screw in, the engine just took off. Over revving only becomes an issue when bigger bore kits, lightened flywheels, higher compression heads, etc. I think kzmille's starting procedure is probably the most. Ive read lots of hints/tips and some have helped but its over revving while raised on the stand, ive screwed the air/fuel mixture. Then adjust the idle downwards in small. I could do with some advice pls with the following, 1978 mrk 1 px125, as i go though the gears the engine is over revving, its.
